I had the incredible opportunity to photograph several families at Boulder Flower Farm in Colorado, and let me tell you—it was pure magic. The fields were full of color, the light was gorgeous, and the families showed up ready to make memories. Days like this are what make me love what I do. But once the shooting wraps, the real magic happens in post-processing. That’s where I rely on a few tried-and-true secrets for consistent style to make sure every gallery looks polished and matches my brand.
My Go-To Secrets for Consistent Style
One of the biggest things I focus on is consistency. The first step? White balance. I set it in-camera so skin tones look natural across the board. Once in Lightroom, I apply my preset. I’ve customized it over time so it reflects my style—warm, colorful, and true to life. Once I’ve got one image just right, I sync those settings to the rest of the session. It saves time and keeps things cohesive, which is especially helpful when editing several galleries at once.
Finishing Touches That Bring It All Together
Lighting can shift a lot during minis, so I always batch my edits by lighting scenario—like full sun, open shade, or golden hour. I fine-tune each group separately to keep things looking even. Then, before I export, I look at the full gallery in grid view. This helps me spot any images that feel a little off so I can do quick adjustments. Taking these extra steps ensures every gallery I deliver feels intentional and consistent—and saves me from second-guessing later. These small tweaks ensure the full gallery feels unified and professional. Trust me, your clients will notice the difference, and it’ll set you apart from photographers who skip this crucial step.
