I have known this family for a while now. I met J. and R. back in 2012 when we were all going to the same Bible study group. Shortly thereafter, J. proposed to R. and they were married. As life happened we all got busy with new jobs and moved to different cities but we still keep in touch through random get-togethers with delicious food.
When they asked me to take their family photos I was super excited. They had a particular location in mind that was meaningful to them which provided a beautiful view of the Flatirons in Boulder, CO. Though we had to reschedule a few times due to weather we weren’t going to give up.
The weather was quite dicy the day of the shoot. The potential for severe thunderstorms was quite high, and as we tracked the weather through the day it was looking like we would have to make a last minute decision as to whether we would be able to do the session at all. Fortunately, a storm came through early enough and cleared the pressure system up, allowing for wonderful lighting and a gorgeous back drop. The trek in was a little muddy, however, everyone managed to make it up the hill without messing up the outfits they had chosen.
I learned upon our hike to our photo shoot location that we would be taking pictures where J. proposed to R. What could be better than being able to capture more memories of both of them and now their two children in the exact location?
