This family session took place at Golden Ponds! There are many places I love to take photographs in Colorado but for a local option Golden Ponds is one of my favorites. It provides so many different looks: ponds, dirt paths, trees, tall grasses, waterfall, bridge, woods, etc. When the Alicia reached out about family photos, she asked if Golden Ponds would be a good spot for her family’s photos! Of course I said yes!!
Golden Ponds, Longmont, CO Family Session
If you are from Colorado you know that we have been dealing with a lot of the smoke from the west coast. So much so that for weeks we have hardly seen the outline of the mountains. On top of that the heat has been crazy. Most days the temperature is 95+ degrees.
The day we Alicia’s family and I met up the sky smoke had lifted and we could see the mountains. We did the session in the morning to allow for us to have the best chance at happy kids (rather than right before sundown when it would have been their bedtime) and the temperature was comfortable. It did get hot later in the day but the morning was so refreshing. What a great way for me to start off my day.
Alicia’s little boy was the sweetest. He loved looking for rocks and throwing them into the water so when we weren’t taking pictures we were rock hunting and then finding a good place to access the water. We had fun. At least I know I did but I’m pretty sure he did as well.
Thank you Alicia for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! Your family is so sweet, and it was great getting to know you guys better. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
Enjoy this little peek into the highlights of this family session!
