Wow! That’s the word that comes to mind every time I think about this maternity shoot. The location was epic, the family was awesome, the dress was gorgeous, should I go on?
I have been friends with Katherine and Nestor for a while now. When they asked me to take their maternity photos and I saw the dress that she would be wearing I was super excited. It happened to work out that we were all headed up to Dillon, CO (along with other friends) for the weekend. I reached out to some other photographers as to the best place pictures might be taken and I was directed to Sapphire Point. That is where we started the photo shoot. Looking out across the valley towards the majestic mountains, I knew this would be the perfect setting for their pictures.
We had planned on going to the Ice Castles after the photo shoot and we hoped that we would be able to grab at least a couple quick photos inside. It was very crowded but we managed to find a few quiet areas and take some family shots as well as individual shots of Katherine. These photos ended up being my all time favorite pictures of the day. The pictures taken with the mountains in the background are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong. But there is something about the Ice Castles that bring that WOW factor to another level. I guess I love a good clean, crisp and simple background especially when one has a gorgeous dress.
Thank you, Katherine and Nestor, for entrusting me with picking the location. I don’t think we could have done better. You guys are the perfect models. I really had a blast and am so happy with how the pictures came out.
