When Megan reached out to me about wanting to do a cake smash photo session for Hudson’s first birthday, I was thrilled. I knew the perfect spot: Jim Hamm Nature Area. Capturing little kids, especially a one year who gets to eat cake, is so fun. Their expressions of pure joy make me smile every time. As a mom of a soon to be 10 month old, I am loving this stage and I knew this shoot was going to be a blast.
Longmont, Colorado Cake Smash
Hudson has two older brothers who are full of life. I know he is going to have so much fun with them (and probably already does) as he continues to grow. As we walked to our session location I got to talk with Cooper and Paxton a little. I could tell they just wanted to go play and run around but they were so sweet and took instruction well during the family photos that we did prior to bringing out the cake.
When it was time for Hudson to have his cake it was adorable watching him determine how he should go about eating it. He was so intrigued but kept looking at mom and dad to know what to do. All he needed was a little coaching to get started but once he tasted the yumminess he didn’t want to stop eating. He did stay rather clean during the whole process but we still got some sweet photos of him. He was so happy and the pictures definitely convey that.
Thank you Megan and Kevin for allowing me be apart of Hudson’s special day. I really enjoyed spending time with all of you. You have the sweetest boys and I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
