There’s nothing quite like a blanket of fresh snow to bring out the winter wonder in all of us. The soft blanket of white transforms the world around us into a wonderland, providing a stunning backdrop for photographs. To capture the beauty of snowy weather it can be both a blessing and a challenge. The harsh light and cold temperatures can be tough on your gear and finding the right composition in a snowy setting can be tricky. However, my clients made the experience easy and fun for this snowy session in Boulder, CO.
Family Session in Buckingham Park
Originally our plan was to travel to get to a snowy destination. But with a sudden snow storm here in the plains, I knew I had to jump on the situation. I asked them if they would be willing to move their session up a week and a half and do it the next day instead. They wholeheartedly agreed! It was the perfect opportunity to stay local at Buckingham Park instead of having to drive up to higher elevation to get the same beautiful effect. Even though the temperature was in the teens they were more than willing, excited even, to switch dates to get the snow without traveling so far.
Snowy Session in Boulder, CO
It was so cold that we had to take a break after only 10 minutes into the session to warm up in our cars. Going back out the second time was much more bearable because the little breeze that was there originally subsided. Courtney and Adam are dream clients, and their toddler did so well. I was able to get many dreamy pictures in just a short amount of time. Snow makes things magical and I’m so ready for the next snowy pictures.
