The beauty of the world around us constantly inspires me as a photographer. It consists of special moments that we share with the people we love. As I look back on my photo sessions, there are always a few that stand out in my mind as truly memorable. One such session took place on a cool, fall morning as the sun was beginning to rise over the pond. The Barnes Family graciously allowed me to capture their Sandstone Ranch family session. For me, photography is not just about capturing images. It is about capturing the emotions and feelings of the people in front of my lens. I am constantly in awe of the beauty and love that surrounds us, reminding me that every moment is truly a gift.

The laidback nature of the Barnes family made them such pleasure to work with. Shirley reached out to me to schedule a last-minute session because she had family in town. Ultimately, we made it work by scheduling an early morning photoshoot. It was everything you could dream of for a beautiful autumn day. The perfectly golden fall leaves made an ideal background. Initially, the day started out crisp and chilly, but it soon began to warm up as the sun rose higher and higher in the sky. The soft glow of the rising sun cast a warm light over everything, and I knew that this was a moment that they would never forget.

Furthermore, this bright and cheery background was perfect for this warm family. They had such a sweet disposition towards one another, you could really feel the love between them. Their heartfelt hugs and smiles shows through the camera lense. In fact, their displays of love and tenderness nearly brought tears to my eyes. And in that moment, I knew that this was exactly what the quote meant – life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
