Everything about this indoor Colorado newborn session was a dream. The Hengemuhle family welcomed me right into their aesthetically pleasing home. Their woodland nursery made for a perfect photo shoot setting, and we also utilized other well-lit places in the house. Their little boy, just five weeks old at the time, was a perfect angel during the session. I never stress how the baby is going to do because we have plenty of time, so as a parent you should never worry either.
Sweet Indoor Colorado Newborn Session
That is one of the main benefits of the style of newborn session I offer. In the industry, there are two different types of newborn photos known as “lifestyle” and “studio”. I take the best of both worlds and offer them to you in the comfort of your own home. Leaving the house for the first time to take newborn photos elsewhere can be daunting. By offering newborn sessions in your home, I’m able to incorporate both styles in one session. The lifestyle photos I capture are life with family in the comfort of home, and the studio style is the baby staged using different props and poses. I incorporate things such as hats and headbands that I provide during the session. Here I take my time to stage the baby using blankets, swaddles, and different backgrounds.
I always begin my sessions with the whole family. I will guide you by letting you know where and how to pose for flattering, but natural looking photos. After that, I pose the baby with each parent, and then just the siblings if this is not your first baby. From here I transition into the studio-styled photos of just baby. This part of the session typically takes the longest as we are on the baby’s schedule, and I do my best to keep them as sleepy as possible for their adorable images.
