Lauren’s Maternity Session in Chautauqua Park and Lost Gulch Overlook

For many of us, high school is a time in our lives where friendships are very important to us. Some of our strongest relationships are formed around this time, but as the years go on it can become difficult to maintain those connections. However, if we put in the time and effort, those long-time friendships get sweeter with every passing year. For me, I met some of my closest friends during my teenage years. Now, 22 years later, there are 4 of us who try and get together yearly, even though we live in different states. This year for our mini girl’s reunion we got together right here in Colorado. One of the things we did during our weekend together was a special maternity session in Chautauqua Park and Lost Gulch Overlook for my best friend Lauren.

Even though our long weekend together felt rather short, we made the best of it. We did some shopping at Target, cooked healthy meals, took pictures together, and of course had lots of girl talk. It was fun to stroll down memory lane and recall many of our shared experiences together. From our awkward days as teenagers, to finding our career paths as young people, and now settling into our lives as adults, we’ve always been there for one another.

Lauren’s Maternity Session

My friend Lauren is having another son who will complete her family. I wanted to capture some epic pictures for her since this will be her last maternity session. We have kids around the same age. Her other son Jamie is 3 ½ and *most* days seems to be excited to be having a little brother. I’m confident they will become best of friends.

We started her maternity shoot at Chautauqua Park. This provided the perfect background with the iconic flatirons during golden hour. After a wardrobe change, we headed to Lost Gulch Overlook. At 35 weeks pregnant, she was thankful for a short walk to the overlook that provided the best sunset pictures.

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture this special season of Lauren’s life. I’m even more blessed to be able to do life together and for such a good friend. Enjoy this epic photos!
