Fall is always my busiest season! Not only is it absolutely GORGEOUS outside with the fall colors painting a beautiful backdrop, but everyone wants updated photos for the upcoming holiday season! In addition to the annual Christmas cards, photos can also be turned into a variety of heartfelt, memorable, keepsake gift items that are perfect for family and friends during the holiday season! With fall being my busiest season, I typically offer a few different fall family mini sessions that clients can choose from!
Mini sessions are a favorite of mine as it allows me to serve several amazing families. My clients also love them as many of them have younger kids, which makes it harder to do more than 15-20 minute sessions! Mini sessions are the perfect solution! This year, my Colorado fall minis included families in all stages of life! I captured adults, extended families, teens, school-agers, toddlers, and babies!
Golden Ponds Colorado Fall Mini Sessions
I photographed mini sessions in two locations this year, Golden Ponds and McIntosh Lake. My Golden Ponds mini sessions were so much fun and filled with many memorable moments. When you work with multiple kids, it can be unpredictable; however, it is always fun! I always follow the kids’ lead and if they seem unsure about picture taking, I try to distract them with some fun shots like dad flipping them upside down, siblings chasing each other, or running into mom’s open arms. This usually gets them laughing and they tend to forget all about me snapping pictures of them! I love capturing these candid moments between families. We always end up with amazing pictures, genuine smiles, and great memories!
McIntosh Lake Mini Sessions
My other Fall family mini sessions took place at McIntosh Lake in Longmont Colorado! It is a beautiful location! I captured one round of minis in September and the other in October. I love looking through the pictures and seeing the change in the landscape! You can see the green leaves and long green grass of September was replaced with the warm colors of autumn in October. Burnt orange and golden yellow leaves are seen in the horizon, and the tall grass faded to a brownish-orange color. It is amazing to see the transformation in just one month’s time! I love fall and all the beauty it brings!
I am so thankful for another wonderful fall family season! Now each fall brings new excitement as I look forward to seeing the same families and how they have changed and grown. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to capture the memories of so many families!
