These McKay Lake mini sessions were taken with all the right elements of a crisp autumn morning. To capture photos within the golden hour just after sunrise requires getting up early but it is worth the extra effort to capture the soft lighting it provides. You may have heard of the more commonly referred to golden hour in the evening which takes place just before sunset. These also provide the opportunity to capture the most beautiful, soft glow. So how does one decide what time of day is best for taking outdoor photos?
Light and Airy McKay Lake Mini Sessions
There are several factors that should be taken into consideration. First, choose a time the works best for your family. If you have young children, you may want to consider a morning session. Factor in meal and nap times, and determine when everyone is most energetic. This is the reason why, as a family photographer, I always offer morning sessions as an option. Some kids thrive in the morning and are at their best. It may not be mom and dad’s most favorite time, but it might be worth a little inconvenience to get those amazing photos.
