Kids are funny. As a family photographer, I have the privilege of capturing hundreds of families a year. I never quite know how the kids are going to act when put in front of a camera. (I bet the parents have this same thought as well!) A lot can ride on their mood, if they are well-rested, how confident they feel in their outfits, and we all know it’s not going to go well with a hangry kiddo. The Mehra kids, however, were the epitome of cooperative children to work with. Not only were they perfect models, but they also loved the process of taking photos and even suggested poses of their own they wanted to incorporate.

My associate, Stephanie, was the photographer behind the lens of this photoshoot. She took this fun family photoshoot at the South Mesa Trailhead. This Boulder location provides the perfect pop of green, as well as a variety of backdrops for an ideal summer shoot. From flowers to mountains, fence lines, pathways, meadows and trees, this one spot has it all!
