Rocky Mountain National Park brings in more than 4.4 million visitors a year. The Zdroik family has come to visit three times now. This particular time, they did a family session at Moraine Park. This is personally my favorite place in the whole park, so I was excited to do a shoot here.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK FAMILY SESSION
One of the reasons the Zdroik family came to Colorado this time of year was to experience first-hand the elk rut season. In addition to being here when the temperatures are starting to taper off and getting a chance to see golden Aspens, most visitors are hoping to hear elk bugle. Elk bugling is the loud call of the male elk, or bull, as they try and win the hearts of female elk.
The beautiful valley setting of Moraine Park with the towering mountains in the distance is commonly known to have elk herds passing through this time of year. Having traveled all the way from Wisconsin, this sweet family was so happy to experience what they set out to see. Their children, only 2 years old and 6 months old got to experience what most adults wish they could—rare yet beautiful elk bugling.
FAMILY SESSION AT MORAINE PARK
This golden fall session accurately portrays the love between each member of the family. The kids were perfect little models and very cooperative which made my job fun. It was easy to capture the genuine smiles on everyone’s faces, and I believe you can sense their close family bond in the photos.
