How are your New Year’s resolutions holding up? Did you make any or determine what your goals are for this new year? January is a good time to evaluate what habits you are implementing to make this year a success. Recently, I attended a workshop that allows me as a photographer to better serve my clients. One of my key business goals for this year was to enhance my efficiency as a photographer. This snowy extended family session serves as a good example. Having an efficient workflow ensured I didn’t miss any key photos due to the extreme cold.
Light and Airy Snowy Extended Family Session
This session’s backstory is that extended family was in town for Thanksgiving. While I typically provide a reschedule option for extremely cold temperatures, it wasn’t feasible for this particular family. Because I use a posing workflow, I was able to do a full extended family session with all the different poses within 20-30 minutes. In that timeframe, I captured hundreds of images. This workflow gave me the ability to work fast and have the kids take breaks under blankets to stay warm and happy. If you don’t come with a game plan or are unsure of how you will execute the session, you may encounter dead space. On a super cold day, that is simply not an option.
