Newborn sessions are in all actuality a fairly recent trend. I’m in my thirties and it wasn’t common for my mother’s generation to have a photographer come to your home and take a variety of pictures and poses captured in a cohesive style. While commemorative pictures were always taken, they needed to be developed to determine which ones turned out well. However, given how quickly time flies and how rapidly newborns change, investing in a newborn session is truly worthwhile. Alison and Dylan are from the east coast but moved out to Colorado about a year ago. They are a very easy-going family and trusted me implicitly with the flow of the session. I was able to guide them as to how they should pose and where we should shoot in their stylish home. Newborn photoshoots offer a distinct experience in comparison to regular family sessions. Most notably, they require increased time and flexibility as I carefully attend to the baby’s needs, providing extra cuddles and allowing for necessary feedings. Throughout each newborn session, my focus remains on capturing precious moments of the entire family and encompassing a variety of combinations: the tender bond between mother and baby, the heartwarming interactions among siblings, and the father’s endearing moments with the children.
Although the newborn stage may present occasional challenges, it is undeniably a time of profound sweetness.
